Together we made great strides on behalf of the entire mem- bership through continuing education and training. For the remainder of 2019 and into 2020, the astute members of your Board of Directors will continue to work on your behalf to ensure a positive and productive year. On the not-too-distant horizon is our San Diego International Auto Show, which is the second largest in the all-important California market and also arguably the second largest show on the west coast. The auto show allows us to really engage with the car-buying public as they explore the many makes and models available in the market. An aggressive marketing and public relations program is being developed, and by working with our valuable and supportivemedia partners, we anticipate a banner year of print, television, radio and social media news coverage and advertising exposure that ultimately benefits us all. There is an interesting article on the following pages that I encourage you to read where NADA President PeterWelch cautions automakers and dealers of the peril of abandoning auto shows. We have had two months of fun and engag- ing activities for members. Our annual Golf Tournament and dinner at the beautiful Lomas Santa Fe Country Club attracted 108 golfers—of varying skills!— followed by a relaxing reception and delicious dinner. A number of awards were presented, and a personal thank you to all the sponsors who stepped forward once again to make it all happen. I also want to thank everyone who attended this year’s Annual Meeting and Luncheon. Terry Bradshaw provided his trademark unfiltered commentary and his presentation was thor- oughly enjoyed by all. As usual, our friends at The Lodge at Torrey Pines provided us with their customary five-star service. Our NCDAVice Chairman Jasen Powell and I look forward to working closely with you this year. Please feel free to reach out to us directly or our NCDA staff with any questions or suggestions. Here’s to a prosperous summer selling season. With Courtesy, Mark Gruwell Chairman
