As you all know, our annual Auto Show is one of the primary means of stimulating automobile sales throughout San Diego County. Our slogan, Where the Cars are the Stars, was certainly spot on. Over 400 vehicles were displayed, ridden and driven. Having over two dozen San Diego debuts and new releases was a particular hit among show goers. The number one reason for the Auto Show is to stimulate consumer showroomtraffic resulting in auto sales at your dealerships. 67%of Attendees said that attending the Auto Show influenced what car they will buy. SD Auto Show survey indicates that“attending the auto show”ranked number one out of all marketing channels that influenced which car they purchased – ahead of all other forms of advertising, including TV and digital. As most of you know the proceeds from the Auto Showare instrumental in the operation and funding of all of our efforts. We use the funds we receive from the Auto Show to provide the many benefits you enjoy. It allows the NCDA to support the business interests of new car dealers, our California Sales Training Academy and access to the facility. As the saying goes, “Membership has its priv- ileges”. The NCDA pays for NADA and CNCDA dues for NCDA members, giving dealers the benefits of all three organizations for the price of one. Dealer associations are on the front lines protecting the business interests of dealers, which is more important than ever given the rising tide of challenges facing franchised new car dealers like manufacturer subscriptions, store improvement requirements, ride sharing and increasing regulations. Looking ahead, consider attending our 2019 Golf Tournament on Monday, May 13th being hosted at the Lomas Santa Fe Country Club. Come out and get to know your fellow dealers in the relaxed setting of the golf course, even if you don’t play. The media and automotive support organizations will be there for your convenience. Registration information will be in your inboxes sometime in March. Best wishes to you all for a prosperous 2019!! With Courtesy, Mark Gruwell Chairman
