When Land Rover in England was informed of the project, their response was enthusiastic and supportive. Dave Warner and Adi Smith fromLand Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations department provided advice and recommendations about the vehicle preparation. The SVO team in England joined the excitement by listening to the internet broadcast fromBonneville when Denise and Shea established the record. “We’re thrilled with the success of Project Speed and honored to have provided the pace vehicle for Denise to accomplish this great success,” said Jo Hannah Hoehn, General Manager of the Hoehn Auto Group’s Land Rover Carlsbad. “We’re always looking for ways to inspire and support female adventure-seekers and we’re proud to include Project Speed as one of the high performance events in our Hoehn Adventure series.” Project Speed is part of the 2016 Hoehn Adventure series that consists of three female adventure events. The first event was Rallye Aicha des Gazelles, a nine-day off-road rally through Southern Morocco in March that put its two-person, all-female teams through the utmost difficult terrain and climate challenges. The third and final event in the series is the Rebelle Rally, the first women’s off-road navigation rally in the United States.
