The cover of this issue is fitting as we continue to have an extraordinary impact on our local economy. We are reminded that our dealers are major regional employers, providing solid employment and health benefits that few indus- tries can match. We contribute over 10 BILLION DOLLARS to our economy and that cannot be stated enough. It is also encouraging to see the latest Auto Outlook Report that notes the continued pro- jected upswing in sales for 2016. While the data is positive, wemust always remain vigilant in our efforts to promote and protect our industry. In an election year, there is a tendency for volatility and the New Car Dealers Association remains vigilant on your behalf. Myself, and some select BoardMembers will be attending the upcoming Dealer Day in Sacramento and have several meetings scheduled with Assembleymembers. It is imperative that we stay on their radar and communicate the importance of your business to the region’s economy as well as keep them abreast to the many challenging issues we face as an industry. We also have trips scheduled to Washington D.C later this year to lobby for those same efforts. I would like to remind you of our upcom- ing New Car Dealers Association Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, May 9th at the Lomas Santa Fe Country Club.This event sells out quickly every year, so please be on the lookout for reg- istration information.
