Summer 2014 23 T he New Car Dealers Association San Diego County (NCDA) has announced that Scott Webb has been named director of marketing and operations. The announcement was made by Dean B. Mansfield, president, NCDA. Webb brings more than 25 years of automotive industry experience, including 17 years at the Los Angeles Auto Show, most recently as assistant general manager. Earlier this year, Webb provided contract support during the San Diego International Auto Show, owned and presented annually by the NCDA. “Scott will be an excellent addition to the NCDA team and brings valuable experience from one of the top automotive markets in the United States,” said Mansfield. “He will be responsible for a variety of dealer-related initiatives here. We’re looking forward to his contributions on the association side of the operation, as well as his support of the auto show.” Webb will report directly to Mansfield, and will also work with San Diego Auto Show Director Kevin Leap. “Our show continues to grow in stature and importance to automotive consumers, retailers and manufacturers,”said Leap. “Scott’s Los Angeles Auto Showexperiencewill be an additional benefit to us here in SanDiego.” Previous to his auto show experience Webb founded a racing and street performance retail business, and directed the marketing activities for performance aftermarket manufacturers HKS USA and Gale Banks Engineering. An avid car enthusiast, Webb is also an accomplished road racing driver.
