Spring 2014 13 Do you have past experiences that help your leadership in NCDA? I was a member in the Young Presidents Organization years ago and it gave me access to strong leaders, or as I like to call them, captains of industry. I feel that experience really helped shape my leadership skills. What’s in store for the membership this year? We’re going to consolidate some of the past events and do some special luncheons with influential speakers. Next , we will work on an- other great year for the San Diego Auto Show. And finally, I think we’ll see a broader range of community activities with our new charitable donation structure. Describe your all-time favorite vehicle (it can be one you’ve owned, or something on your wish list). What are you driving today? My all-time favorite is the 1959 Cadillac El Dorado Convertible, either red with white interior or white with red interior. I’m also a huge Ger- man car fan, the Mercedes-AMG series, Porsche…… I currently drive a 2014 Lexus GS F Sport. Tell us about your family. I have an 11 year old daughter, Kayli. We live in Carlsbad, California. She plays volleyball and does competitive dance. She is certainly the love of my life. I always say I’m very proud to be her daddy and she says she’s proud to be my daughter. What’s your favorite way to spend your free time? Following all my Boston sports teams. Last year, I flew back to Boston for every World Series game in Fenway Park to watch my Boston Red Sox win the Championship. Right now, I have my DVR set to record all the Boston Bruins playoff games. Hopefully they will advance to the finals and give me the opportunity to fly back and watch them play for the Stanley Cup.
