26 San Diego Dealer S enator Joel Anderson has served the citizens of San Diego and Riverside Counties in the 36th Senate District since 2010. Prior to that time, he served four years of service in the California State Assembly. Joel is Vice-Chair of four Senate Committees including Public Safety, Health, Judiciary, and Elections and Constitutional Amendments. While serving in the State Legislature, Joel has been awarded“Legislator of the Year’’from the California Small Business Association and California Small Business Roundtable, California Branch of the American Legion, The California Rifle and Pistol Association, and theYoung Republican Federation. He has also received a 100% rating from the American Conservative Union and was given the "Protector of Marriage" Award from "ProtectMarriage.Com.” Joel graduated from Grossmont Community College with an Associate’s degree in Business Administration and then attended California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and received a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Business Administration. After Joel graduated, he owned a successful printing business in San Diego. While Joel's accomplishments are many, the most important role in Joel's life is that of being a husband to his wife Kate for 25 years, and a father to their three children - Mary, Maura and Michael. Mary is actively serving as an officer in the United States Air Force, while Maura and Michael are still in school. SENATOR JOEL ANDERSON LEGISLATOR PROFILE
