30 San Diego Dealer California State Assembly The State Assembly has several new repre- sentatives due to incumbents terming out or running for different elected offices. Like the Congressional and State Senatorial Districts, re-alignment has redefined a number of districts with regard to political make-up. 71st Assembly District Brian Jones handilywon the 71st AssemblyDistrict for a second term. Hewill be representing El Cajon, Lakeside, Santee, SpringValley, Jamul and Alpine. 75th Assembly District Former Escondido Councilmember and Mayor Marie Waldron won her first election to the Assembly and will represent the 75th District. Major communities include Fallbrook, Valley Center, Escondido and San Marcos. 76th Assembly District The 76th Assembly District will be represented by Rocky Chavez, former Oceanside Councilman, a retired U.S. Marine colonel and former under- secretary of Veterans Affairs for the state govern- ment. His district includes Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, Vista, Carlsbad and Encinitas. 77th Assembly District Former San Diego City Councilmember Brian Maienschein easily won election in the 77th Assembly District. He will be representing a portion of the City of SanDiego and Powaywhich he also did as a councilman. 78th Assembly District In the 78th Assembly District, Toni Atkins was re-elected for a second term.
