What Happened
In the parking lot of a dealership in southern California, an individual was rinsing cars with DI water using pressure washer equipment located on the back of a pickup truck. The pressure washer had a gasoline-powered motor. During the course of rinsing, the gasoline level went low. The operator got a can full of gasoline and started pouring gasoline into the gasoline tank on the pressure washer while the motor was running.

California leads the nation in the call for higher minimum wages, emanating from the agricultural fields and reaching nearly every industry. Raising wages has been a major focus in the California Legislature – and federal and state courts – and employers in the state will likely see a higher wage hike than expected next year.

As your incoming Chairman of the New Car Dealers Association Board of Directors, I am honored and excited to serve the San Diego County new car dealer community over the next year in this new role.
